The film “Ghost Adventures” by Zak Bagans and Nick Groff that aired 7/25/07 at 8 p.m. (central) on the Sci-Fi channel, had me on the edge of my chair for several moments over the course of the film. It’s just the three of them in the first part (with their friend Aaron) and just them two in the second half. Unlike the show “Ghost Hunters” there is no large crew staking out the places they visit.
They didn’t have a ton of equipment, like EMF (electro-magnetic field) detectors, no temperature gauges, just the camera and digital audio for EVP recording (electronic voice phenomena). Although inexperienced and with a relatively lo-tech setup, they did manage to catch some of the most convincing evidence of ghosts on video to date. There’s a lot more casual moments in their hunt than on “Ghost Hunters” (wed.’s on Sci-Fi). For example we find them sleeping in some parts, with very unguarded moments at other times. Which, in my opinion if ghosts do exist, would entice them to “come out and play.” Just the lack of a large crew taking over the area is a huge advantage.
For anyone mildly interested in the paranormal this movie will definitely entertain and excite you. I’ll leave the key moments to your imagination until you see the film, (they startled me that’s for sure.) Although there is a lot of the movie where their inexperience shows through, it’s worth it for those two key moments when they find real evidence and capture it on tape.
Okay those in need of instant gratification can hear my opinion on the ’scary moments’ right now. The best is when Zak walks into that one room in the old hotel that they were locked into saying “are you the one makin’ all that noise?”. Then the brick flies across the room and the board falls, and then he flips out runs off, only to be found a short time later in a freaked out daze… I almost crapped my pants, that was truly exciting, fraud or no fraud, that was great television.

Hello I am Ed Tajchman, a painter currently living just outside Kansas City in Lawrence, KS. I have been creating art most of my life, mostly paintings and drawings. I really fell in love with painting when I started highschool. It was a time when I felt I didn’t do anything well, and then realized I was an artist! To quote Jack Kerouac, “To know that nothing matters after all, to know it young and be a poet.” It was a great feeling, (and still is.)
I try to stay away from labels, but you could say my work is Neo-Expressionist, Abstract Expressionist, and definitely individualistic. For me, creating a painting is a very holistic, spiritual, and connecting experience. I can look at paintings I have done in the past and really ’see’ the energy from my soul coming through, and when other people really enjoy my art? Well those are two of the greatest things in the world! Check out my website, http://edsartworkshop.com
